Beyond Basics Stitch Tutorials Playlist - ua-cam.com/play/PLWxo_4OZSIkn5DnNmwMvpjoWdHG4Ddj7z.html&si=1LQVVYxG82qusoBA
Hi Crochet Friends!
I have a beautiful stitch that is going to blow you away at how easy it. The Cross Over Stitch is made up of Double Crochets. Yes, it's that easy!
I used this stitch to make some beautiful fingerless gloves a few years back and I just love how they turned out. If you are curious about that project, you can check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/Zq91851ukps/v-deo.htmlsi=hcT5pzko5cB9kJ2O

      By continuous Granny, do you mean you want to keep going to create a larger square? You can keep goign as is to make it bigger with the same method. Although you absolutely could flip your work. It will just have a slightly different texture which wiuld be very pretty too. Hope that helps!

    • @TheStitchSessions
      @TheStitchSessions 10 днів тому

      Hi there! You can definitely size this up for an adult. Just follow the sizing chart for an adult hat diameter. So keep increasing the circle until you get the size you need. Then begin the floret stitch part the same way. Hope that makes sense! Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions!👍

    I absolutely love this video! Thanks for sharing! But I do have one question, if you don't mind. When we are about to start the body, would you close the underarm area with a slip stitch or would include chains?! I ask because I just finished a square yoke and I added a few chains. It looks great, it fits really nicely but I think I could only make it work because I was trying on along the way. But how I would measure for a client, for example? Chest, upper arm width? I got a bit confused. Still, thanks for this incredible video!

    • @TheStitchSessions
      @TheStitchSessions 22 дні тому

      Hi Vitoria! I'm so happy you find this tutorial useful. If you are crocheting this for someone else, I would go ahead and add a chain or two in the underarm area. It's always better to make things a little bigger than smaller. I personally always go by the arm depth measurement first. Once you reach your arm depth, add some pins or markers, then check to see if your chest measurement equals what your chest measurement requirement is. If the chest measurement falls too small, I would do another round or two until your chest measurement reaches the number you need. *Remember to add a little wiggle room with an extra round or two in general unless you like your sweater tight. I would rather have a looser fitting sleeve than a tight bodice. I hope that all makes sense! Please feel free to check in with in any other questions. Have fun!

    thank you for this tutorial. I'm finding that after three or four rounds my circle struggles to stay flat and starts curling. like it has too many increases, but I checked and I followed the formula right. tried different tensions and needle size. what could be causing this? thank you

    • @TheStitchSessions
      @TheStitchSessions 22 дні тому

      Does it curl up or it started to ripple? If it curls up, you may need to add more increases but that shouldn't be the case. If you can send me a picture of your work, Ic an have a look and see if I can figure out what's happening. Just email it to me at info@crochetcrafty.com. Hopefully we can figure it out.👍

    • @mdeville5851
      @mdeville5851 22 дні тому

      If it's curling (aka cupping) you don't have enough increases. If it's rippling, there are too many. Mine was doing it too, the answer was starting with 8 DC instead of 10.

I understand only 2 double crochet at the beginning and end of rows, got that. At26:59, in black text at the top of screen, it says; "...from here on out, every odd row WILL NOT get increases throughout the row. Only on each end." But in some of the comments it seems you are says to continue making increases as before. 🙀😬😫🤯 Help...🙃😅 THANK YOU 💖

    Hello new here and new to crocheting. I have a couple questions. 1. Can I use any kind of yarn? I currently have bulky 6 weight yarn on hand. 2. Since I'm using 1 color, how many rows do i crochet before adding the straps? 3. Can i use regular thread to sew the sides together? Thanks in advance😊

    • @TheStitchSessions
      @TheStitchSessions Місяць тому

      Hi there! You can use a bulk weight yarn but your pencil case will come out quite large. Probably more like a purse. If you are ok with that go for it! With regards to straps, I'm not sure what you are referring to as there are no straps attached to this project. And as for sewing the sides, this project was crocheted in the round so no side seems were created. Might you be confusing this video with another one you watched?🤔

    • @melaniewilson8234
      @melaniewilson8234 Місяць тому

      Hi, so sorry for the confusion. I just realized I commented on the wrong video lol. This was in reference to the small tote bag you made using teal, yellow and white yarn.

    • @TheStitchSessions
      @TheStitchSessions 29 днів тому

      @@melaniewilson8234 LOL I thought so! Ok got it! Yes that's the beach tote. Yes you can use a bulky yarn but as I previously mentioned it will make a larger bag so keep that in mind. If you are using one colour, just count the total number of rows I did with all the colours before I reached the strap for your row count and it should be the same. And lastly, yes you can sew up the sides with regular thread but I find that using the same yarn makes it a little stronger;) Hope this helps!

    Such a cute bonnet, especially for a boy. Daisy Farm Craft has a cute one too, but it's geared more for a girl. My question is, if I wanted to cinch up the back neckline a bit can I skip a stitch on the way back around with the slip stitches? Thank you for sharing ❤❤❤

      Thank you so much! Yes you absolutely can cinch it up a little in that back that way. Glad you enjoyed this project. And I love the Daisy Farm Craft channel too:) They create beautiful designs.👍
