Hey there!
Join me on my "Crochet and Conversations" adventures.
A few years back, I rekindled my love of crochet and thought this would be a great way to create an opening to some cool conversations with all kinds of people. Every week, you'll come with me on a new Stitch Session journey as I mix it up with some crochet tutorials as well as some in depth conversations on life, crochet and everything in between. (So pretty much everything and anything;)
Here, guests are free to really get deep and express themselves, while enjoying the soothing craft of crochet. I'm excited to get crocheting and chatting with my guests. You just never know who will agree to sit down and stitch with me and I'm super glad you're tagging along for the adventure!
See you soon!

I loved this so much that I finished 2 in 2 days....thank you so much for this video
OMG! I love hearing that:) If you can share a pic with me that would be great! I'd love to see them:) Just tag me on insta @the_stitch_sessions 🤩
@@TheStitchSessions I sent a msg on insta along with pics 🙈
Hello thanks for this.tuto. why bother with thé end of the zipper and not cut the beginning of the zipper ? Maybe i missed something I am not an english native speaker. But it will help me a lot.thank you for sharing.
Hi there! You may be right! I didn't think of cutting the front end off. I've always just done the end but if the beginning works for you, go for it!:) Thanks for sharing .🤩
Thanks.
😀
Wow! Thank you sooo very much for this explanation! Now I understand completely, this explanation covers all my questions. I've been crocheting since lockdown but yokes had me crazy and I love doing them. Thank you again Greetings from South Africa Have a beautiful day🤗
Oh how wonderful to hear from South Africa! So happy this video helped you!:) Thanks for sharing.👍😍
I want to do this as a continous granny. should in flip and go in the opposite direction to keep it square.
By continuous Granny, do you mean you want to keep going to create a larger square? You can keep goign as is to make it bigger with the same method. Although you absolutely could flip your work. It will just have a slightly different texture which wiuld be very pretty too. Hope that helps!
Your Crescent crochet shawl is beautiful ❤.
Thank you so much! 💕
Very pretty! Thanks for the tutorial👍 This would make a lovely cowl!!! Think I'll try it!
Oh yes! A cowl would be lovely!😀
How about changing the pattern after the armhole . Would any pattern work Or we need to adjust number of stitches accordingly.
Great question! I think any straight forward stitch would work. So many lovely stitches to choose from. The main thing is to keep the stitch count consistent from here on out. Let me know if you have a particular one in mind that you are wondering about. Good luck!
@@TheStitchSessions Thanks a lot . I'll keep u posted once I find one .

OMG! Thank you so much. I'm glad you found it helpful!😍
Can i get an adult-size pattern for this hat?
Hi there! You can definitely size this up for an adult. Just follow the sizing chart for an adult hat diameter. So keep increasing the circle until you get the size you need. Then begin the floret stitch part the same way. Hope that makes sense! Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions!👍
Oh my goodness this looks so cool! I will definitely have to try making one! I think a thin ombré yarn would be amazing! ❤
Hi Megan! Can’t wait to see how it turns out.🥰😍🧶
@@TheStitchSessions After a bit of thinking, I bet I could use this to make a fabulous poncho swimsuit coverup, which I’ve been meaning to make for a while now. Thanks for the awesome video giving me so many ideas!

I love this stitch
Me too!:)
Thanks for this tutorial! I’ve seen this stitch but never been able to figure it out! I think it would be really great as a triangle shawl. How would you work a corner/increase-decrease this stitch?
That is a beautiful idea! Give me a little time and I will be working up a tutorial on this very thing! Stay tuned!:)
I love it I have been wanting to do a oval rug after crocheting your other rug I made a bathmat in the same candy spindles and coral it beautiful 😊
Right on! I hope you'll enjoy this one too:)
Thank you so much for this tutorial. It was easy to follow and it turned out beautiful ❤
Oh how lovely! What colour did you make yours?
I absolutely love this video! Thanks for sharing! But I do have one question, if you don't mind. When we are about to start the body, would you close the underarm area with a slip stitch or would include chains?! I ask because I just finished a square yoke and I added a few chains. It looks great, it fits really nicely but I think I could only make it work because I was trying on along the way. But how I would measure for a client, for example? Chest, upper arm width? I got a bit confused. Still, thanks for this incredible video!
Hi Vitoria! I'm so happy you find this tutorial useful. If you are crocheting this for someone else, I would go ahead and add a chain or two in the underarm area. It's always better to make things a little bigger than smaller. I personally always go by the arm depth measurement first. Once you reach your arm depth, add some pins or markers, then check to see if your chest measurement equals what your chest measurement requirement is. If the chest measurement falls too small, I would do another round or two until your chest measurement reaches the number you need. *Remember to add a little wiggle room with an extra round or two in general unless you like your sweater tight. I would rather have a looser fitting sleeve than a tight bodice. I hope that all makes sense! Please feel free to check in with in any other questions. Have fun!
thank you for this tutorial. I'm finding that after three or four rounds my circle struggles to stay flat and starts curling. like it has too many increases, but I checked and I followed the formula right. tried different tensions and needle size. what could be causing this? thank you
Does it curl up or it started to ripple? If it curls up, you may need to add more increases but that shouldn't be the case. If you can send me a picture of your work, Ic an have a look and see if I can figure out what's happening. Just email it to me at info@crochetcrafty.com. Hopefully we can figure it out.👍
If it's curling (aka cupping) you don't have enough increases. If it's rippling, there are too many. Mine was doing it too, the answer was starting with 8 DC instead of 10.
Thank you so much for the tutorial! I wanted to make mesh bucket hat but I couldn't find any tutorial nor written pattern. While this isn't exactly a tutorial on how to make bucket hat, this greatly helps me to figure out the pattern. I hope your channel continue to grow ♡
You are so sweet! Thank you so much.! Actually, if you take what you've learned here, you can apply it to a bucket hat tutorial I have here: ua-cam.com/video/nGB-TN_uNls/v-deo.htmlsi=PLWgI1d3QGKKmOTA this one is for a baby but I talk about how you can size it up if you like. 👍
Can you use cotton clothes line rope?
Sure! You will get a "softer" rug and not as sturdy as if you use cording but it will still be lovely:) 👍
This is such a good explanation!! Thank you sooo much😊
Thank you so much! Glad you liked it!

That is perfect
Thank you so much!
Oh dear. I have read every comment about a dozen times. Still confusing about increases on odd rows, throughout the row. I understand only 2 double crochet at the beginning and end of rows, got that. At26:59, in black text at the top of screen, it says; "...from here on out, every odd row WILL NOT get increases throughout the row. Only on each end." But in some of the comments it seems you are says to continue making increases as before. 🙀😬😫🤯 Help...🙃😅 THANK YOU 💖
Hi Deloris, Sorry if it's confusing. I hope I didn't make a booboo in answering some of the other questions but the odd row only get increases at the beginnings and ends - NOT throughout. Hopefully, that's a little clearer? Please do let me know if you have more questions. 👍
I just found your channel! Ty so much for the tutorial! 🥰

making a little tote bag out of these squares right now and i love this pattern so much ! you explained it so clear and it comes out so cute every time thank you for this ☺️!
Aaaah! I love hearing that! Wonderful:) 😍😍😍😍
Hello new here and new to crocheting. I have a couple questions. 1. Can I use any kind of yarn? I currently have bulky 6 weight yarn on hand. 2. Since I'm using 1 color, how many rows do i crochet before adding the straps? 3. Can i use regular thread to sew the sides together? Thanks in advance😊
Hi there! You can use a bulk weight yarn but your pencil case will come out quite large. Probably more like a purse. If you are ok with that go for it! With regards to straps, I'm not sure what you are referring to as there are no straps attached to this project. And as for sewing the sides, this project was crocheted in the round so no side seems were created. Might you be confusing this video with another one you watched?🤔
Hi, so sorry for the confusion. I just realized I commented on the wrong video lol. This was in reference to the small tote bag you made using teal, yellow and white yarn.
@@melaniewilson8234 LOL I thought so! Ok got it! Yes that's the beach tote. Yes you can use a bulky yarn but as I previously mentioned it will make a larger bag so keep that in mind. If you are using one colour, just count the total number of rows I did with all the colours before I reached the strap for your row count and it should be the same. And lastly, yes you can sew up the sides with regular thread but I find that using the same yarn makes it a little stronger;) Hope this helps!
Nice granny square ❤
Thank you so much!😍
you are the best tutor ...keep it up..thanks a lot.. God bless you and your work.

It's going to be awhile lol. After 5 rnds. It's only 7 inches. May even add a few more rnds of cluster stitches as I go.

Such a cute bonnet, especially for a boy. Daisy Farm Craft has a cute one too, but it's geared more for a girl. My question is, if I wanted to cinch up the back neckline a bit can I skip a stitch on the way back around with the slip stitches? Thank you for sharing ❤❤❤
